The movements are done by the therapist according to a number of pre-defined patterns. During a few sessions, one hour each, a sub-conscious integration of the disturbing material occurs, leading to an elimination of the psychological suffering caused by this mental material.
The EMI treatment
The EMI treatment consists of six to ten hours, including one or two preparation sessions and a few concluding and grounding sessions.
The origin of the method
The EMI method was developed 1989 within the field of NLP (NeuroLinguistic Programming) and has since then been further developed. It is related to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizing Reprocessing), but has a broader and deeper effect on the brain's subconscious functions.
